The Carteret Room

Sir George Carteret, Jersey’s Royalist Governor (1643 - 1651), successfully defended the Island from Parliamentarians during the English Civil War. In recognition of his loyalty and assistance during exile in Jersey, King Charles II granted George a large section of land in the American Colonies, which he promptly named New Jersey.

Looking at the same vista Sir George observed from his stronghold at Elizabeth Castle, The Carteret Room benefits from views over the hotel gardens, including the resident birds and the sweep of St. Aubin's Bay, comfortable double or twin beds, antique furnishings and en suite bathroom with separate bath and shower.
